Buff Geese

American Buff Goslings for sale hatching March to June. Our buff geese hatchery does both American Buff Geese and American Tufted Buff Geese. The Buff goose is one of only two breeds of geese developed in the United States. They have a very beautiful, fawn color to them. This is a medium-sized goose: an old gander would weigh in at about 18 pounds and an old goose at 16. Eyes are dark hazel and the bill, shanks and feet are orange. The Buff has a pleasant disposition and make a very nice addition to anyone's flock.

The Tufted Buff geese originate from the American Buff geese. Their unique charasteristic is a tuft of feathers on the top of their head much like the Tufted Roman goose.Our ultimate goal is to have them recognized as a distinct breed by the American Poultry Association. This requires at least five breeders to have produced them for at least five years and they must be judged in all available waterfowl classes for two years in two shows by APA approved judges. They then must have a qualifying meet at a prominent show where at least 50 birds are shown by at least five breeders.
