Buff Orpington Bantams are a miniature size of the Buff Orpington Standard chicken and admitted to the American Poultry Standard of Perfection in 1960.
Class : Single Comb Clean Legged Bantam Class
This poultry variety of the Orpington breed makes for a good backyard chicken and egg production. bantams are 34-38 ounces, just over 2 lbs. Just imagine a bird at roughly 1/4 the size of a large fowl Orpingtons. Orpingtons are heavily but loosely feathered, appearing massive. Their feathering allows them to endure cold temperatures better than some other breed, resulting in eggs during winter. The eggs are a light brown to tinted white and range from small to large depending on the heredity of the breed. They are a good dual purpose bird both for meat and eggs.
Standard Weights: Rooster 40 oz, Hen 36 oz, Cockerel 36 oz, Pullet 32 oz
