Guineas keets are one of our top selling birds. Raising guineas is rewarding because they eat bugs, discourage snakes, act as an alarm system, lay lots of eggs and can provide a substantial amount of meat. Males guineas are called cocks, females hens and young guineas are keets.

Two guinea eggs are the equivalent of one chicken egg, and in a 32 week season a hen will lay about 160 eggs. Hens reach maturity around 28 weeks of age. Guineas are exceptionally hardy and require little care.
