Modern Game Bantams are fun. They come in a wide range of colors, so there is something for everyone, they are naturally tame, they don’t take up much space and make a great “starter-chicken.”
Any blue variety ordered from Purely Poultry may include chicks with black, blue or splash plumage patterns.
Production: Modern Game Bantams are a popular breed for exhibitions and are bred by many people involved in the poultry fancy. They are easily available.
Temperament: Naturally tame and gentle, Modern Game Bantams make great pets.
History: No one knows exactly where Modern Game Chickens originated. However, Modern Game Bantams were bred specifically for their small size like all bantam breeds. They do not take up much space eat less than their larger counterparts.
Colors: The American Bantam Association currently recognizes 18 different colors of this small breed. Some of them are solid colors, and many are some combination of red, brown, black, silver, white and blue.
Status: American Livestock Breeds Conservancy Conservation Status: not listed. This breed is widely available in most parts of the world as it is popular with breeders, exhibitors, 4-H clubs and many others involved in the poultry fancy.
Body Type: Modern Game Bantams are small with long, graceful legs and compact bodies.
