Our shipping charges are listed below. You will notice a sizable difference in the cost to ship a large order of chicks versus the cost to ship just a few. The reason for that difference is that chicks must be kept warm. When many are shipped together, they keep each other warm. When only a few are shipped we must include a heat pack to keep them warm.

When you receive your order, count the number of LIVING chicks.

If that number is LESS than the number you ordered, please immediately let us know the number of chicks that arrived alive and well of each kind after 24 hours.

Please do not give us a dead count because to cover for any losses we may include extras.

You must contact us within 24 hours of receiving the chicks to be eligible for a credit.

You can also enter your claim on our online form for live arrival gurantee claims.

We refund the purchase price of birds that arrive dead in excess of possible extras.

If the original order was a total loss we will do a no cost reshipment.

Ship Dates: Please specify a range of acceptable dates on the order form.

Example: I would like my chicks to arrive in March. (NOT I would like my chicks to arrive March 3.)

After receiving the order, we will contact you with the ship date.

The baby chicks within 72 hours of your ship date.

We do our best meet the scheduled shipment date.

If we are unable to provide chicks that hatch day, you can choose to reschedule or receive a refund or store credit.

We ship chicks on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Limitations: We ship all of our chicks via United Postal Service Priority Mail to the 48 Continental states, and Alaska.

We do not ship to Guam, or Hawaii.

Purely Poultry does not export.

We do not sell or ship outside of the US.

We do not provide health papers for movement into Canada.
Arrival: Chicks will be shipped to your post office and they will call you on arrival.
You will need to pick up your chicks from the post office as they will not deliver them directly to you.
The yolk sacs will be enough to feed the chick until it arrives at its destination.
We ship the chicks in boxes with holes so it is properly ventilated.
Books: We ship books Media Mail via the postal service. It takes usually takes 1 week for books to arrive but can take up to two weeks.
Pickup: We do not allow pickup. Purely Poultry is a sales office for a nationwide network of breeders and hatcheries which ship birds to your local post office for pickup.
Tracking: We are unable to provide tracking numbers.
