The Yokohama is a breed of chicken that originated in Germany in the 19th century. It was developed from the Japanese long-tailed breed called the Onagadori, and these ancestors of today's Yokohama were imported from Yokohama, Japan. In appearance, it most closely resembles the Phoenix breed. The Yokohama is primarily ornamental. The Yokohama lays cream or tinted eggs, on an average of one egg a week, and doesn't get very big, only four to five pounds. The most distinguished feature of The Yokohama chicken is its elegant long tail. The Yokohama has yellow skin. We carry the Red-Shouldered Yokohama, White Yokohama, and the Silver Duckwing Yokohama.
