Grouse are hardy game birds that are closely related to pheasants and turkeys, but look more like chickens. They are a small bird, ranging between one and three and half pounds depending on the species. Grouse mainly inhabit the floors of wooded areas and forests and have great natural camouflage. They are best adapted for higher elevations. Often times collectors will keep them for breeding. They are a challenging species to raise and not a good choice for beginners. Purely Poultry offers a variety of species, each with very unique characteristics.
