The Belgian Bearded d'Uccle is a bantam breed of chicken primarily used for exhibition, however, do make wonderful pets as well. Michael Van Gelder, a Belgian chicken hobbyist, developed the Belgian Bearded d'Uccle bantam in the late 1800s in the town of Uccle, located near Brussels, Belgium. In 1914, the American Poultry Association Standard of Perfection accepted the Mille Fleur variety of this breed.
This breed comes in a variety of recognized colors including Mille Fleur, Buff, White, Blue, Black, Mottled, Golden Neck, and Porcelain.
