A best practice for healthy, hardy chicks is to prevent them from defecating in their feed. This feeder addresses this problem and is a very traditional piece of chick brooding equipment. The Reel Top Feeder features a revolving reel over the top that rolls and keeps the chicks from settling on it.

The Reel Top is made of galvanized steel and is 18 inches in length, comfortably feeding about 30 birds from day one to six-week-old chicks. The metal edges are rolled for safety, and the curved edges also help hold feed inside the feeder. The reel top on this feeder is removable for easier cleaning.
