Red Golden Pheasants

He came wild, being bought as an older bird (Juvenile) whome had no real intimate human intervention when growing up, but with time he became a sweetheart. He will eat from your hand, and is very observant about what you are up to and knows to read your actions so he can interpret what you have in store for him with cleaning, feeding, treats, etc. It IS true that they are naturally shy. But if you spend a lot of time with them, like with a parrot, you will be happy with your bird. I keep "Romeo" in my home, with the proper sun light lamps and heat lamps for his sun vitamins, along with tons of bugs I order for him (Wax Worms, etc., which he devoures) along with good blends of seeds and crumble. I found where I live it's hard finding a good Pheasant blend for him, though. That's why I buy the bugs and take-over with the vitamin/mineral supplements every now and then. He has the run of my home! I bought 12' perching posts that go across my livingroom, along with shorter ones for where he roosts at night. He in a floor bird during the day, and loves his fruit and greens. A bird worth it for someone who has the time and heart to love them entirely!!! He's really funny!
