The Livestock Conservancy is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the genetic diversity of livestock, including chickens. There are many breeds that are endangered and need human intervention to keep the species around for future flock keepers. The Livestock Conservancy has created a Conservation Priority List of these rare breeds, separated out by how threatened they are. This category includes those that are at the most risk--Critical and Threatened on the priority list.
